Omni Air International was previously named Omni Air Transport and Omni Air Express (see). In 1997 the company name changed to Omni Air International and purchased DC-10 equipment and entered the passenger charter market. In 2003, the airline purchased two B-757 passenger aircraft approved for extended range over-water operations. Omni Air International participates in the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program and is an active member of the National Air Carriers Association.
